Sugared Pearl Onions

A delicious sugared pearl onion is a wonderful side dish for any dinner party. It's the perfect way to add a little bit of sophistication to an otherwise ordinary meal. Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz Pearl Onions outer layer peeled
  • 2 TBS Butter
  • 2 TBS Water
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Peel outer layer of pearl onions until they are all clean and uniform.
  • Place the butter in a large sauté pan and melt on medium high heat. Add the onions to the pan and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until aromatic. Add water to the pan, it should sizzle.
  • Add salt, pepper and sugar to pan and mix to coat onions. Cook for 5-7 minutes stirring often, until softened and the outside of the onions are lightly browned. Serve while warm.
