Method
- In a heavy saucepan turn heat to high and combine sugar and milk. Sift in flour and cocoa and whisk until smooth.
- Whisk constantly with mixture on medium high heat. It will boil and thicken like gravy, around 5 – 10 minutes.
- When sauce is thick turn the heat off and add butter, cinnamon and salt. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately over biscuits. (The sauce would be great with pancakes and waffles also. )

This was such a delicious and delectable breakfast. Kyle was skeptical at first, but after one bite he was in love. He compared the taste to a chocolate donut, with the buttery dough and smooth, hardly sweet chocolate. Though chocolate gravy isn’t as common as it once was, it’s growing in popularity in my home. And hopefully yours soon!
