Fig Cookies

Fig Cookies are buttery, flaky cookies stuffed with dried figs, chopped walnuts, cinnamon, and other spices. These cookies are similar to fig newtons, and are ideal for the holidays or anytime you want to enjoy a sweet treat. They also freeze well for up to a month, so you can make them whenever you like. This recipe makes a dozen or so cookies. After baking, they should be cool and firm to the touch, but not overly soft.
