Honey-Hoisin Pork Chops

This dish is perfect for any occasion, whether you're entertaining or simply enjoying a tasty meal. Using hoisin sauce, also known as peking sauce, will add a delightful flavor to the pork chops. This marinade is composed of soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and honey. Once mixed together, you can bake the pork chops for 10 minutes before serving them.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 T hoisin sauce
  • 3 T low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 T honey
  • 1 T hot water
  • 1 T sesame oil
  • 1 t rice wine vinegar
  • 1 t red pepper flakes
  • 2 T seasoned soy bean paste
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 green onion green and white part, sliced
  • 2 center cut pork chops
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Cooking spray

Instructions
 

  • Combine first 10 ingredients in bowl. Pour 1/3 of the mixture in a large ziplock bag and reserve the rest. Add pork to bag, seal and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge, turning occasionally.
  • Remove pork from bag, discard marinade. Sprinkle pork with salt.
  • 3 Heat a large grill pan over medium-high heat and coat pan with cooking spray. Add pork and cook for 2 minutes before rotating 45 degrees to get some grill marks. Cook 2 more minutes before flipping over and repeating.
  • Set pork aside. In small sauce pan add remaining honey-hoisin mixture over medium high heat. Once mixture begins to boil turn off heat and add 2 T butter, to make a smooth sauce. Serve over pork immediately.

Notes

The hoisin sauce is a blend of wine, orange juice, and soy sauce. Once combined, add brown sugar, ginger, and garlic, and simmer for two minutes. Half of the sauce is used to glaze the pork, while the rest is served as a side dish. The glaze can be poured over the pork chops to serve as an accompaniment. It's great to serve with cold sesame noodles.
