  • 1 1/2 cup AP Flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Butter cubed and softened
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 1 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
  • 1/3 cup Sour Cream
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Trail Mix grind the nuts
  • Trail Mix for topping

Instructions

  • preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Combine the first four ingredients in the bowl of an electric mixer.
  • Next add the softened butter cubes, egg and egg yolk, almond extract and milk. Mix until fully combined (there may be small pieces of butter in the batter, thats OK!)
  • Fold in the trail mix. I did grind the nuts so they weren’t as big, but left the M&Ms; and raisins whole.
  • Divide between 12 prepared cupcake wrappers and sprinkle whole nuts, raisens and M&Ms; on top. Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool.

Notes

I used this Dark Chocolate Frosting recipe and it didn’t work. At all.
What’s up Martha? Why have the past few recipes I have made of yours gone wrong?
It came out more like a ganache, not a pipeable frosting, but it still tasted fantastic!
